Yes I am feeling much better because I know my heart is fine and the doctor said I can give up warfarin when I want (after consulting my GP) and as far as my heart is concerned brisk walking and jogging/running is fine. However he said I shouldn't push myself because my chest muscles need to heal properly first and they are my weak spot, not my heart.

So I am happy.

..I'm happy you're feeling much better too zand, take it easy

sorry to hear you have had a bad day but relieved for you that you now know your heart is fine. That will be a great weight off your mind. Take care and look after yourself x

Should not type on the phone! You need a long evening on the couch in front of the TV, a day off work to recover and a nice relaxing weekend. Take good care!

Phew, Zand. I've been thinking about you all afternoon. So glad you got yourself checked out and it's good to know why you've been feeling so down - well, not good, but you know what I mean. Fighting this virus will have dragged you down in all sorts of ways. Be kind to yourself. are you going to take some time off work?

I think its just about listening to your body , if its telling you to rest then do it.
If you go for a walk just remember you need to walk back so don't go to far

lol I don't work, so I'll probably just give the ironing a rest for a while - it hurts to lift the iron. I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you I was going to hospital......I've been thinking of you too, I was worried you might be worried. I'm just so pleased I went to get it checked out because normally I don't until I really have to. I am getting much better at looking after myself now.

Oh dear! Please take care of yourself Zand! It's good to know the doctors were thorough with your ECG, checking and double checking.

Thanks for your good wishes. I'm sure it will be fine for me. I think the doctor is just being careful.

Well at least I finally got to meet my GP! She's not a bit like the weasel featured young woman I imagined from the telephone conversation I had with her last November... ;-)

Hmmmmm. Tuesday again. I have been to weigh and have a problem with this now. The whole reason I went to SW in the first place was because I trusted that their scales would weigh correctly. I am convinced that they were wrong by 2lbs last week. My own scales (I weigh daily at home too) said I had put on only one pound last week, not three.

This week I have lost the '3' pounds I put on last week so I am back to 30.5lbs weight loss. My own scales show I have lost the one pound I put on last week, so both sets are agreeing again, so I guess it doesn't really matter....except it does to me. At best I am irritated, at worst I am thinking 'what's the point? I'll give up now.' I know that in the scheme of things when I have so much weight to lose these minor discrepancies really don't matter at all.....but on a week to week basis they do to me.

Confession time - on Sunday I had a slice of toast ( my first for 5 months) which wasn't as nice as I expected, and my son went to McD's and I asked him to get me a Big Tasty Burger. I didn't throw the bun out. I ate it all. It was horrid and bland and yuck, but I still ate it all.

OK, ready to start the new week with a better attitude.

Like you, I weigh daily at the moment. I shouldn't do it though. It actually does me no good, and I actually spent a year not doing it at all and still lost a stone. When I don't lose weight or see weight going back on I get into a 'might as well give up' frame of mind, even though I know I can differ in weight by up to 4lb between two days - partly due to my scales and partly due to the way I seem retain water. So frequent weighing is not good for me. For the last 8 weeks I have been weighing myself several times a day. I am going to stop. I think I'll weigh weekly or fortnightly.

As to cheating - well, you've seen me going off the rails - it happens. Now, does the fact you didn't enjoy your carby lapses mean you are less likely to do them again, or that you will plan them better next time?

So you'll get back on track, and continue your great work in reducing your weight and moving all the fatty deposits from around your liver. You've been doing brilliantly and will keep onwards. Just accept the lapse, don't do any guilt and do what you know works for you.

Yes @RosieLKH thanks. I hadn't realised, there wasn't a lot of guilt this time, more surprise that I really didn't enjoy those things. So....yeh...I'll plan them better next time .......and make sure it's stuff I'm really going to enjoy....

BTW - whenever I think of McD burgers I have a mental picture from an old Hellman's mayonnaise ad - a round piece of brown carpet in a burger bun - I'm never tempted by them, LOL! Now a tub of good ice-cream - that'd be different. Oh no - must get that image out of my brain.

lol Oh dear, I've just come back from having lunch...the ice cream was delicious...but I only had a teaspoonful, honest.

I don't crave the burger , its the gerkins I crave
