Hi all, not been by in a while, but wondered if anyone can help me interpret my cholesterol results.

Serum lipid levels:
Serum total cholesterol level 3.5mmol

Serum HDL cholesterol level 1.3mmol

Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 2.7mmol

Non-HDL Cholesterol 2.2mmol

Calculated LDL cholesterol level 1.5mmol

Serum triglyceride levels 1.46mmol

I'm on statins, but would rather not be.....what do these readings look like to you, i cantake head nor tail of it.

Thanks

@bulkbiker mightt help. Personally, those readings, I would drop statins in a heartbeat. Have you had a cardiac event?

Nope, walking 6 miles a day, dropped from 87kg down to 71 (6ft tall) never felt better.

Pushing for another test as this was 4 months ago and been low carb since then and BG is under control.

Is it safe to stop statins, or do you have to come off slowly?

Come off them reasonably slowly. Don't forget those readings are with the statins so you really need to see what they are with a lower dose or check at the next blood test.

How long had you fasted before the blood was taken?

That was no fasting if i i remember right, mid afternoon blood test at blood clinic.
In that case numbers will be fairly meaningless.
Statins are up to you.. if you want to take them then do so if you don't then stop.
You should decide what goes into your body.
