Hi MKD75, AT least you have a Blood Glucose Meter and can test before and then 2hrs after each meal until you know which foods (and how much of them) suit your body. I have a poor tolerance to Carbs, I have printed off pages from DietDoctor telling me how many carbs are in various Fruit, Veg and Nuts since I don't have packaging on them to tell me. I used to eat lots of carrots, but since testing I found that I get a severe BG reaction to only a small piece of raw carrot - so I cut out them (and other root vegetables) completely. It is hugely important to find a dietary lifestyle that works for you, since it is unlikely that a crash diet would work in the longer term. Think about meals that you can eat without feeling deprived for the rest of your life. I have lost over 10% of my original body weight and my HbA1cC is down into the pre-diabetic range.
