Hi, I am insulin independent and i have been injecting since i was 16 and i am now 21. I have been told the pump would be a great option for me as i am always on the go but i do not know where to start with getting a pump and where i should go for some more advise or to start using one.

I really don't like needles either but i am ok injecting myself but watching some the videos on youtube have really made me think twice but is it as bad as it looks?

All advise would be really appreciated :)

Hi there! :)

I inject twice a day but sadly have no experience of pumps to offer but I'm bumping this post up so someone with experience with pumps may spot it and give you advice.

Welcome BTW

Best

Paul

I inject background insulin twice and quick acting when i need it up to 15 times a day so i am looking at a pump the cannula noise the loud click is what makes it seem bad they hurt less than injections and the evil finger clickers i have found one that i like and got lots of lancets for it they are more work while sorting out base insulin but .i think most people agree given the choice they wouldnt give up their pumps

Can i ask why you inject up to 15x a day??? i inject background in the evenings and have 3 injections a day with breakfast, lunch & dinner :) yeah i have been watching the youtube videos and the noises it makes kind of puts me off but one lady did say it hurts less then pricking your finger. just seems to be alot easier when your out and about the bluetooth controller controls how much insulin you put in instead of injecting out in public all the time because us as diabetic do get some funny looks when we inject in public!
