Afternoon all

I have had a quote to have a shower fitted. The price is £325.00 + VAT. I have worked out on paper that the VAT is £57.00( I try not to use calculators, so I can keep the little grey cells working  ) Does this look correct?

I know the plumber and his family well and this is his written quote , valid for 3 months and 1 year parts and labour guarantee.

Supply and install thermostatic bath-shower mixer tap

Supply and install shower riser rail

Supply and install shower screen

I think it sounds good :? what do others think or know ? Any advice would be very welcome, before I go ahead. Thanks RRB

The price sounds pretty good from past experience,I think the the VAT works out at £65 instead of £57 although not a massive difference!

Seems a reasonable quote RRB, in my own experience it does help if you know the person well in case of any problems later.

Thank you both for your replies, I will go ahead with the shower :) So under £400.00, thats lasts months wages :o I will be paying in cash, so I might ask for a cheeky discount  not sure though. RRB

Hi, :)

Your Friend has offered you a great Deal. :D

I can also see the connection to diabetes, "blood pressure". (

Mine has just Overheated with the thought that your friend must Collect from you £65.00p, on behalf of the government.

Your friend then some time later will have a severe headache trying to work out his vat return. :?

(When you said your getting your house updated. Why not get your property listed. Declare your a millionaire, then have a swimming pool Etc; fitted, without paying VAT which could be legal). Finally go bankrupt in a view to make more money at a later date. 8)

This may appear rather stupid, but not as bad as loosing £65.00p

I have calmed down now.

Roy. :)
