Good evening.

6 weeks in, and I think I have been doing quite well.

on 2 x metformin (500) per day. Levels have been around 7 in the morning, and about 6 pre dinner and about 7.8/7,9 after.

My problem today is that I was 5.8 when I got up, testest pre lunch and was about the same, and 2 hours after was the same.

This evening I was 5.6 (at about 8pm) but have been feeling really lousy. Have forced down half my dinner as I am not really hungry.

By feeling lousy, I just feel a bit heady, and a bit shakey. I am presuming that I am having what my body thinks is a hypo as these are my lowest levels during hte course of the day.

To top it all of, I live in hertfordshire, and am currently in a hotel room in ABERDEEN.

Is there anything I should do?

I know that the levels are not too low, but just a little concerned.

Is it a case of me having an early night, and hope all is back to 'normal' tomorrow.

Hope people can help (as I know people always do.)

It could be a false hypo because you are used to higher levels.Check before going to bed.True hypos are below 4!!As you are on metformin you will not technically hypo but may feel unwell for all that.Your liver will dump glucose before you get anywhere near true hypo levels.

thats what I thought, so do I have to just ride it out???

(I do hope that I keep the levles, just not this feeling!!)

Thansk for your response

all u can do is ride it out, once your body is used to the lower levels you wont feel bad at all :?

Now its just case of keeping them low.

I think this has happended today as I have not eaten too well between meals, and have had a busy day.

But then, it could have been the work out I had in the gym. As everybody says, it is trial and error.

Well that's pretty good, obviously the food isn't shooting you up - though you might do some 1 hour checks now the 2 hour ones are in line.

Either you're feeling low because you're used to being high, or you're sickening from something else. Or possibly you either went high or low briefly from the workout, sometimes I find the after effects of doing either can stay with me for some hours.

If it is bad enough try a small hit of fast carbs, 5 - 10g plus some slower carbs. Standard hypo advice of 15g fast carbs may overtreat for a Type 2.
