It's not really that bad ..... tad high I admit (I've seen a LOT higher) but you should let us know what you ate over the weekend that could have resulted in that reading.
Hi , I believe one single reading of 10.2 at a given time really does mean too much. Better you should know what is your HbA1c (the recent one) .Also I suggest you take proper care of eye treatment
Hi Mike, this shows how ignorant I am on blood Glucose (I'm not saying that flippantly ) I assumed that the reading was about what I'd eaten in the last few hours ?
Yesterday I had porridge for breakfast (a really tiny bowl) full fat yog with a teaspoon of Hazelnut spread stirred in,, and then nothing until eve as I was at the Eye Hosp. For dinner at 8 pm, I had a chicken breast in breadcrumbs and 2 tbsp. of peas (that was just for quickness as I was starving by then .
Is that any help ? Do you think I should go back to my nurse sooner rather than later ? I am worried about doing more damage to my eyes before I see the Consultant
The breadcrumbs would not have helped at all IMO and the hazelnut spread I'd question as well.
Yes the reading you take post 2 hours following a meal (as well as one hour post) give you the clues you need regarding your blood sugar levels.
B4 we go any further, the community here would need to know your age, weight, diagnosis date to provide you some more clues, but on what you've said thus far, it's a little difficult to offer anything more ... but as I said, 10.2 is something to be addressed and the concerns you have regarding your eyesight could only be properly addressed by those qualified to comment.
Good luck Mike
In such case please include in your routine 30 min of walking/exercise . This will help . I am a person who really can not compromise too much with diet ,that is why doing 30 min walk as a must everyday and I am noticing improvement in my readings.
