Hi all

My partner is recently diagnosed LADA and started insulin back in May, he’s really been suffering with treatment induced neuropathy, he’s on pregablin which we’re not sure is helping but slowly but surely his stomach has become painful, he does not inject into his stomach as he can’t stand the pain, he is having to walk about with a hot water bottle strapped to him and the pain is excruciating. Also very swollen. He is snot constipated or being sick just in a lot of pain! We cannot get him to see a doctor we have been trying for weeks and if he has seen someone they are no help! Has anyone had this or know what it could be or where to go for help please?

When I read this I looked up pregabalin: it seems to have a lot of side effects.
Is there a clinic or a hospital emergency department that you can take him to where you live?

Yes there is an a&e about 20 miles away. We are a bit out in the sticks there is no walk in clinic type thing that I’m aware of, he says he doesn’t want to go to hospital but every single time we phone for doctor we get told there is no appointments and to see a nurse practitioner which is of no use to him whatsoever, it’s been going on so long now I am really worried about his mental health also!
