Acceptance of health treatment claims that are not adequately supported by evidence. I dislike it when people sell ineffective and even harmful alternative health products to exploit the desperation of people with chronic illness.
I see you are a newly diagnosed T1. Is this your first time testing blood ketones? Were you given any info about DKA by your care team? I don't know anything about ketone testing/meters but according to the link below if the level is over 3 you should seek medical care urgently: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes_care/testing-for-ketones.html
If it turns out the meter is faulty this is one way to find out.
Hi @Ross 33
Welcome to the forum. Can you give us a little more background on your situtation...how newly diagnosed are you? What range are your BS since diagnosis?
I could be wrong but 10.9 sounds very high for a ketone reading so wonder if you've perhaps hit an incorrect setting on your meter
