Guys I need help I was diagnosed type 1 diabetic in May of this year since then I am taking insulin 4 times a day 3 times rapid insulin and one time long acting insulin for bed although I have seen a diabetic consultant I feel like I've not had much Support regarding my diagnosis and diet wise etc my blood sugars are always 16 and above if my blood sugars were 16 I would take insulin of 14 vice a versa do you think this is the right kind of treatment for me to be doing it to take 2 units below the blood glucose reading for insulin or should I be taking more than the blood glucose reading itself I have asked and seen a diabetic consultant regarding this and he said to just continue as I am although I only take my insulin before food and never after food...help!

Um.. That's not how you work out your insulin doses. At least I have never heard that as a thing before...

Here's some information on how to work out a correction dose that might be helpful - https://www.uclh.nhs.uk/PandV/PIL/Patient information leaflets/Correcting a high blood glucose level.pdf

Remember, that information just gives general rules. They are food as starting points. But to work out what works for you takes a bit of trial and error. You want to keep the errors to a minimum, so be cautious when applying anything learnt.
