I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was pre-diabetic 5 months ago. I’ve been living on full fat dairy and pomegranates. I was eating a small pomegranate every day because I LOVE pomegranates. I was unaware they are very high in sugar so I’ve cut them from my diet as well as high fat cottage cheese, cheese, and yogurt.
I drink 2% Fairlife milk. 13 grams of protein and 6 grams of sugar. I was drinking 20 ounces a day because that’s my cup size and it was the majority of my protein but I cut it to 8.
I don’t like vegetables and I hate fish. I tried the carnivore diet for 2 weeks and I was sick to my stomach. I’ve done keto in the past, but I can’t eat vegetables now; it gives me a bellyache.
I eat very little meat; I’m just not interested.
How do I lower my blood sugar and my cholesterol, which is really high, without meat and vegetables? How do I get protein and fiber?
