Hi - So I,M at work at the start of a 12 hr shift - my pump just went empty, and I ve filled it out the spares I keep in my works locker , BUT just noticed the humulog sell by date is 11/09 - november 2009
I ,m not after a lecture in keeping track of my insulin expiry dates - just a simple would you or wouldnt you when it comes to using it . I,ll refill it with new tomorrow at 8 AM when I get home.
I,m currently at 14 mmol after big tea. Worried.

Panic over - Remembered I keep an emergency lilly injection pen in my glove box for just such occasions , so used that, am now a healthy 4.9 - The fact that it was 33 degrees in my car all last week is neither here nor there - you just cant win sometimes can you.

so glad... i was on the verge of asking if you had a spare pen!!!!! I'm only new on the pump so no out of date insulin (however in the past i have been known to find a pen in the fridge some time after expirey date!!!!)

Do most people have a spare pen? I used to but I was given an emergency pump, it has 100 days life on it or something and I have syringes stashed away at work, home & in the car.

Not sure whether you are UK based or not..

I have spare pens, and Humalog cartridges, but not spare levimer cartridges but thats purely because having a T1 husband who uses levimer as his background insulin, if push came to shove I can use one of his cartridges in emergnecy...
