Okay, something a bit odd happened to me earlier and my poor hubby has had to fill me in as I remember none of it.
A few hours ago I had apparently asked if we had any of the fun sized chocolate bars in the house (I have no idea why I would have asked this as the last time we had anything like that was Halloween last year) and he had said no.
About half an hour (ish) after that he said I had become very irritable, cranky and was saying that I was really hungry. I apparently then decided that it would be a good idea to sleep to see if that reduced the hunger and slept for about 2 hours.
When I woke up I seemed a bit "out-of-it" but was adamant I was going to cook dinner. He said he had to literally steer me away from the kitchen as I was really unsteady on my feet and told me that he'd bring me stuff to the table that I could chop for him.
By the time he'd gotten back to the living room I was (he thought) asleep, but sitting and slumped forward a bit. My eyes were closed and when he tried to wake me up I was unresponsive and very (for want of a better word) floppy-limbed. When my eyes did open, I wasn't able to focus at all and apparently wasn't able to talk.
He said I was really really hot, couldn't hold myself up properly and just kept mumbling but not making any sense.
He got me some iced water and had to force the straw past my lips to get me to drink which didn't help. After about 10-15 minutes the only thing he could think to was give me something sweet to see if it helped; so he took a small teaspoon of ice cream and had to force that past my lips as well.
He then tried iced diet coke and started to get very worried that I'd need an ambulance.
I don't know how long I was like that for; but he said it was well over 30 minutes until I was able to talk above mumbling. I kept saying I was hot and hungry and he said that I had asked where I was a couple of times.
I finally "came around" and was able to sit up properly, although I was still pretty unsteady and "out-of-it" and he started cooking dinner while keeping an eye on me.
I have eaten (pork chops and veggies) and feel alright now; a bit tired and fuzzy-headed and I've had a cup of tea. My temperature has gone down a bit and although my right eye keeps blurring a bit (it's been doing that all day, though) I feel able to focus a bit on things.
He did take my bloods and I'd gone from 18.4 this morning to 17.4 this afternoon and then 13.4 when he tested it.
Does anyone have any idea what on earth happened?
I'd like to be prepared if there's a chance of it happening again.....
Thank you,
~BF.
ETA - not sure if it's worth mentioning but this is now the third time in less than a month that I've gone non-responsive.
