I am new yo pumping so today I'm really struggling. My bg has been high all day I've changed the catheter twice but now my bg just says hi and I have 1.2 keytones should I do a pen injection and change the catheter again please help

Hi Cheza,

In that situation definitely do a pen injection - I hope you have gotten in touch with your diabetes specialist nurse. If not, how are you getting on now?

Let us know... i've had that before and it's not nice. If the ketones keep going up you'll need to go to hospital.

Sam.

I wouldnt be so worried about the catheter but yes def do a pen injection.

What pump are you using? what insulin? how long have you been on a pump?

Will just correct here just incase OP has to speak to DSN or pump care line... It's cannula, not catheter, just that they may wonder where you're putting it?

What pump and cannulas are you using.

Have you seen your levels coming down, or are they still going up? That would be the factor to consider before going to pens again.
