i suffer with both type 1 diabetes and hemiplegic migraine i have done a bit of study into this but their is not link to this diabetes to say it causes the HM from what i have recherche it says that it is a problem in the brain and also to do with certain one that are hereditary for migraine but this HM is rare 1 in 10,000 suffer from it got to say scary when it happen to me i got full on stroke symptoms on both sides very scary but as i say their is a lot of info out their if u got the time to sit and read but i did looking to the specific genes as to why u get it and if u read makes a lot of scene in the end

Very late to the party on this one. Between the ages of 12 and 14 I used to have a hemiplegic migraine every time I had a hypo. I was just googling it as I was talking to someone who's wife is actually now disabled because of them and I was thinkin how lucky I am that mine went away. Google says your blood sugar is absolutely what causes the hemiplegic migraine, which makes sense. 20 years ago when I started with them doctors weren't too concerned and it seems there's been a lot more research recently. I hope you've grown out of them too skipjane xx
