Hieveryone,

I have started a Facebook group to help others manage their diets and lifestyles. I have made massive changes to my diabetes results and have managed to reverse it!! I have done this through diet, medication and excersice and want to help others. I specifically help the individual as k ow k ow everyone is differnt and deals with it in differnt ways. If you feel like you have hit a dead end or would like to contact me with getting recipient ideas etc please do.

Please add me on Fb, my Facebook name is whole body diabetes and if you don't have Fb you can contact me via P.M. please forward this to anyone who you think will benefit from this or get in contact if you want to find out more.

Thanks Emma

@emmashaw706 That is a very kind gesture but, as you say, everyone is different and I think you might be better just following the threads and offer your opinion and advice as and when.

There are a lot of people who have been on this forum for many years, with all kinds of experiences of this condition and offer help, comforting words and advice to those who need it when the occasions arise.

Thanks for the advice. However I have found that some people would rather talk one to one rather than to a whole group. A lot of people have found my help usful as they have found it a private matter and don't want to go into their life too much with a lot of people. If you feel the same way please get in contact. Thanks

I can see from your recent posts that you were diagnosed in June and were not coping well at first You have done well but perhaps it would be better if you stayed on this forum with its many posters with loads of different experiences and direct others here too

I think your intentions are worthwhile but can you really expect to be all things to all Type2 diabetics?
We do have a PM system here which remains private.
It was not long ago that your posts said that you were not coping and yet you now seem to think of yourself as an expert.
There is a wider audience here and many posters who can help anyone with anything but I do not feel that you will be able to answer everyone's questions because, as you say, we are all unique. Some posters have several chronic conditions and unless you have experienced them, what advice are you going to offer other than using Dr. Google to answer the questions?
Your journey has only recently started and there will be times when you yourself will need advice.

I wish you well in your endeavours but feel this forum is better placed to support all diabetics.

Emma, whilst you have chosen to join the forum using what I am assuming is your name, I chose specifically not to do that because I don't want to discuss my health with the world, and let's face it, that's what an open forum is.

I hose my user name, and actually, it's a user name I only use on a couple of diabetes focused forum. Whilst anyone who knows me well (in my usual life) might be able to put some pieces together, over time, if they read every post I made, I doubt many could tell you too much about me, apart from my diabetes, how I have chosen to deal with it and how I interact with others on this forum.

For me, I received a massive amount of support from this forum when initially getting to grips with things, and I still learn things regularly on this forum. Like yourself, I have been able to move my diabetes to a great place, and I like to think I have a great handle on how I manage my diabetes, and am happy to share that with others. However many, many T2s have other health issues in play too, and I don't just mean the really common ones like elevated BP and Lipids being adrift, and the exerience I have gathered from reading the thousands of posters who post here is that Diabetes simply isn't a one size fits all condition, and whilst there are some who could shadow me, doing as I do, eating as I eat and so on, not all would achieve the results I have. Some would do better than me, and others won't progress in the way I have. That's not suggesting they would be cheating, but some bodies just don't respond to even tried and tested protocols. How do you intend to deal safely (and safety is very important to us all) with people with complex needs? Just plough out the same solution?

I'm afraid I won't be joining you on Facebook. I wish anyone who chooses to join you well, and obviously joining you there wouldn't ban them from remaining a member here, but I would rather stay in a community of many, many, in fact I dread to think how many years experience of there are on these boards every day or evening.

I hope it works out well for you.
