Here's an odd phenomenon...

I'm Type 2, diagnosed 10 years ago and currently using oral medication for control. Prescription has not changed in five years

I experience very occasional hypo attacks, the most recent being last night (2.9 mmol) and the one before about a year ago.

However what intruiges me is that I only ever get hypos at night, and always 2-3 hours after my main meal of the day. I have no idea why this should be as it seems counter intuitive!

Anybody else had a similar experience?

What did you have for dinner, and was it in any way different from your usual dinner?
Any extra exercise, sleeplessness, stress, etc?
And what is your oral medication?

Sorry to fire questions on you, but all those things could have a bearing...

Nothing out of the ordinary to eat, perhaps a bit more fruit (fresh raspberries) than usual.
No extra exercise, no stress whatever and sleep is never a problem unless I have a hypo on the way. In these circumstances my body will not let me sleep until it hits.
Metformin (2000 mg per day) and Glicazide (320 mg per day) spread over the daylight hours

Thank for answering.

If you havent had any unusual stresses and things, then all i can suggest is that the heat may have affected you?

I know gliclazide can cause hypos, but if you've been on it for years, then some other variable must have changed for you to thow out a hypo.

Raspberries are amongst the lowest carb fruits, so it's unlikely they had much impact, if buried in a meal.

Sorry i cant be more help!
