I’ve finally got round to posting on here and reaching out to you guys .. I have Diabetes due to acute pancreatitis when I was younger .. insulin dependant .. doctors have hummed and hawed over my ‘type’ and care for years .. I’m 37 from Edinburgh.. please feel free to chat and tell me your stories

Hello @Emilia82 ,

Far as I know your type is T3c, with the diabetes following pancreatitis. (That's why our cat was an insulin-dependent diabetic. I discovered I was a T2 by borrowing his meter). You'll want to change your profile to reflect that, because the usual advice to a T2 would be absolutely useless and possibly dangerous to you. Anyway, there's a whole section of the forum for you to discover: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/category/type-3c-pancreatic-diabetes.73/ Might be helpful.

Anyway, welcome, and keep fighting the good fight!
Jo

Hi Emilia , That's interesting because I have diabetes due to a pancreatitis, too. Some doctors say I have type 1, others think it is type 2 or even type three . Nobody really knows but I am on a pump and treated like a T.1D- I 'm 58 and study in Stirling but most of the time I live in Germany.

Hi Emilia, I’m also in Edinburgh and late onset type 1 (as of a January this year) Do you get seen at the Royal? I find the nurses there have been really lovely and happy that we are given a cgm (I should have one later this month) x
