Type 1
Just wanted to say hi and get involved with the community. I found out I was type 1 early April and currently on two insulins.

I have found the transition quite difficult and the lifestyle changes challenging. However, mostly I have been positive and tried not to let it get me down! (Can't change so got to roll with it!)

Here is too making some friends and to help support others!

Hi @hawkes403 and welcome to the forum. I'm Type 2 so don't know much about Type 1, but there are a lot of T1s on the forum and you will get a lot of good advice and support on here.

I'm very puzzled by what lifestyle changes are being made because of a type 1 diagnosis? I don't think type 1 requires any lifestyle changes? You test, you inject, you carry on as normal. Am I doing it wrong? What am I missing here?

Maybe have a read of the book think like a pancreas, it's a basic guide on how to manage type 1 and, importantly, how to get it to fit in with you life, not change your life to suit the type 1.

Hello and welcome to the forum @hawkes403 , it is a bit of a shock at first, but in time it will get easier, you are sounding positive which is a great start. Lots of friendly member's on the forum, with helpful advice and support.
Take care :)
