Hey guys, I'm David and am new to the forum, although not to diabetes, I've had type to since I was 2 so over 17 years now. I have recently changed to the regime with 4 injections a day (lantis long acting at night and the other 3 are humalog quick acting taken before meals etc).

Trying to get used to the new regime is harder than I though, just tonight before dinner at 6pm I was 20 which is extremely high for me and there seems no reason for it as I had my last injection, the only thing I can think of is I have a mild cold but I couldn't imgaine it would affect it that much ( my usual reading would be about 5-6 around that time and there was nothing unusal about today) so slightly struggling with that at the minute.

Anyway have to admit that joing for support was not my only reason as I am currently campagning for a petition to allow diabetics to drive HGV/LGVs and buses etc. I didn't create the petition so it isn't worded the way I would pesonally like it as I would prefer other jobs to fall under it, and for the diabetics to be monitored to keep them safe workers etc, anyway I'll post another topic with more of my thoughs on it and hopefully others about it as I believe it to be very discriminating against diabetics.

Anyway thanks for reading it all and the link if you would be so kind and it would be much appreciated http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/DiabeticHGVban/

I'm a T2 using minimal Metformin diet and exercise, married to a T1(insulin user of course) Needless to say I'm against discrimination at work, but I still have reservations about insulin users driving heavy vehicles, including buses. It doesn't take much of a mistake to cause a tragedy
