Good evening deejay rHello and welcome Sal, sorry you're not feeling too good lately. You say you're not eating many carbs but you're drinking semi-skimmed cows' milk which is sugary. Have you tried unsweetened almond milk or soya?
If you tell us exactly what you eat we may be able to pinpoint a few other carbs lurking.
Hi I'm on all the right Think according to my diabetic nurse I can't have soya or stuff like that and also no fatty stuff not a lot as got liver problemsHello and welcome Sal, sorry you're not feeling too good lately. Hi dear Scottie thank you so much for your message, I took your advice and phoned my surgery this morning and apparently there is no any appointments for the next few weeks so have kept my one for the 7th .I don't know what to suggest Sal, it seems you are doing everything right but with those BG levels, I really think you need to seek medical help. I am far from an expert but this was what was advised to me when my levels were so high. April 7th is a long time to wait, please will you call your surgery in the morning, can you not even see a DN? I know how hard it can be getting medical help when you most need it but you really need some.
i am sure there will be lots more help coming to you very soon from the amazing forum members and I'm so sorry that I can't be of more help. xx
Welcome to the forum, you are doing very well, keep going.I was diagnosed several years ago too.....and used to keep fairly good control, without actually having to try too hard. Then a few weeks ago, something happened. I had a virus....and after that, my thirst went from zero to needing 10 litres a day. I lost weight without trying. So bought myself a meter, and had a reading of 29.2. Since then, I have followed the LCHF diet...and my levels are now down to an average of about 11-12. Still too high, and seeing the GP on Wednesday - but just wanted to let you know that there may be a reason that your BG and diabetes symptoms have changed.

Okay thank you, I will give them a buzz in the morning and see what they say.Hi Sal. We've just had a similar problem re lack of appointments when DH's heart meds were making him feel dreadful. At his routine appointment this morning, the diabetic nurse told him that if it happens again, he should ask to speak to the doctor on call and they'll phone him back the same day. Might be worth a try at your surgery. April 7th is a long time to wait when you're so ill.
You're not being a pest! They're paid to help you get better.Okay thank you, I will give them a buzz in the morning and see what they say.
I just don't like feeling I'm a pest u know x

Don't think you will be taking an appointment from somebody else, as you need to be seen asap. Please don't worry about this, you are just as important as anyone else. I totally understand why you don't want to go to A&E, maybe more than other posters, but you do need some help.
I know you've promised to call on Thursday, but is there anyway you can call tomorrow? Please try, I will keep popping in to see if there is any news. Please take care xx Apologies if you think I am pesterting you but I am just concerned
