Hi de hi

Hi folks. I'm new to the forum but have been type 2 for about 7 years now. Live in Brighton, UK.
Glucose was under control for about 4 years (6.0 ave.) but I seem to be struggling now.
I have just started going to the local diabetic clinic on the support is great.
They increased my Glicazide and things seem to be getting into shape now. Still a way to go though. I am on Metformin and Sitagliptin too. Also I am hoping they can convince my doctor to let me have test strips on prescription now.
I've never managed to convince the doctor myself. They always say ' but you are only type 2'.

My aim is to stay off insulin for as long as possible.

Hi. Diet is not bad. My wife looks after me and nags when I stray. My weakness is that I have a sweet tooth.
I find it easier now that I am testing the blood glucose regularly because I see the result of what I eat so I am more aware.
I am just going back to the gym also after a 3 month lay off. Had angina. Right coronary artery. Got a stent now so am firing on all cylinders again.
Forgot to say, I am 63 and BMI 24.5.

That's what the lady at the diabetic clinic told me. I have to phone the surgery in a few minutes to see if I have been granted the 'golden' strips. Watch this space.

The doctor has given me the strips. That is a result. Saves me a few bob. Thank you to the diabetic clinic.
