...In my head I was hearing Doctor Nick from the Simpsons....
Newly diagnosed as of Thursday - likely to be Type 2, but it's too early to tell really, apparently....my BG was 17.9 when tested on Thurs
I had a feeling this would happen to be honest, I'm badly overweight, 34 and I used to drink
alot. Well, when the fatigue, dry mouth, thirst and frequent toilet breaks kicked in, I sorta guessed.....but they way I look at it - this is probably the kick up the backside I needed to
force me to get my life in order.
I have no option now, but to lose weight and get healthy and that can only be a good thing.
I'm on Metformin 850mg, twice a day and I've also opted for a lowish carb diet thus far, it seems to make sense. My GP sort of advised I do that this weekend. He didn't outright say I should and advocated 'lots of fruits, but stay away from starchies, biscuits, cakes etc', but the implication was there. 24 hours of doing that and I feel quite good - all the symptoms literally went away!
So, found this forum and hope to learn a whole lot about this new thing in my life and make some new chums.
Cheers
Dave
