Hi sandymaynard
Welcome to ther forum
i would give your doctor a phone and ask what was the actual result of your fasting tests.
As it could be that yes they are a bit higher than normal, but this increase could be due to the stress that you have faced with your partner and his accident, so that they want to rule this out as a short term blip, and hopefully your sugars should settle down to normal levels..
At this stage it could mean that you need to look after your diet and be aware of not only the visable sugar that Items such as fizzy drinks, and normal sugars contain, but those that are hidden in foods, such as chips pastry, pasta bread etc..
It could be that some of yor symptons could be because you are aware of diabetes and what happens, so when you hit similar symptons that you are connecting these, and they aren't really they problem that you think, but having the actually fasting numbers that your doctor has could actually put all this in it's proper perspective, as you must be worried that if your relative is diabetic theb you might sucume to this as well....
And you have been through so much that all could actually get mixed up etc
