Hello,my name is Mo,was diagnosed with typ2 diabetes just over two weeks ago,so this is all new to me,was given metformin & gliclazide tablets,think they are working okay,at diagnosis bs was 27.3,now 5.3 in the morning rising to 7.5 after meals,only problem this has caused is terrible blurry eyesight,went to eye clinic on tuesday and apart from early stage of cataracts,said eyes have not had time to adjust to drop in bs levels,but eyesight should improve over next few weeks,have got first appointment at diabetic clinic on 9th June,looking forward to learning lots about diabetes from this website,hope everyone well,bye for now.
 
Hi Mo,welcome to the forum.Yes they are right ,your initial Blood sugars were so high that they affected your eyesight.Now that your blood sugar has dropped to a more normal reading your eyes should start to recover.Have a good read around the forum and you will find lots of great information on coping with type 2.There are some great tips for controlling your diet and generally taking control of your diabetes.Don't be afraid to ask questions,there's always someone who knows the answer.
