i came across this site a few days ago and felt abit lonly with the diabetes as not had anyone to talk to who understands what we go through(except diabetic nurse) the missus listens but unless your diabetic you dont undestand.
well a little bit about meself, i'm 39 soon to be 40 arrrrhhhhhhhhh was diagnosed almost a year ago with t1 afew of the usual symtoms(thrush from hell toilet about 6 times a night oh and thirty all the while) but other than that nothing didn't feel unwell or anything had blood test got results and straight off to hospital
.
being as i was a bus driver i was hoping i'd be a type 2 but unfortunatly for me i wasn't (for some reason if your type 2 and its controlled well you can keep your bus licence), unfortunatly after a another blood test it was verifyed i was type1 and therefore found myself unemployed
.no job my other half with baby due the next month oh and xmas round the corner(other than that everything was fine
)
anyway at the moment im on novarapid and lantus but after reading whats said about lantus think i'll ask to go back on to insultard i think im right in sayin that a long acting one.
i struggle with my bg but im still trying to retrain myself where food is concerned never really worried what i was eating and like some of you on here i have my rebellious moments.
what i would like to ask ppl is when my bg is in the range it should be i get terrable headaches and a very dry mouth also sometimes but not always become shacky and sweaty( i know these are the signs of an oncoming hypo) but reading are well within the range they should be (4 to 7) tried both meters i was given just incase i was getting false reading. this is making me want to stay on the high side but i know its no good for me any thoughts on it? my nurse says its my body getting used to having a lower bg.
anyway thats alittle bit about myself thanks for listening to my little story. :mrgreen:
