Have a look at keto diets, just for information. As a T2 I am intolerant to carbohydrates, this is what raises your glucose levels, but we are all different and have different tolerances. If you have weight to lose, keto will get you there and once you have got through the carb addiction (it took me around 4 weeks) and then suddenly, no more hunger!
I would definitely recommend you get yourself a glucose meter. Find out what foods spike you and what foods don't.
