Hi,
Well I'm 30, been diabetic for 25 years now but brand new to the forum! Sometimes feel like nobody understands where I am coming from even family etc.. Hence the reason I am on here! It would be great to get to know other people who have type 1.

Hi Michael welcome. You won't be sorry you've found this forum it has certainly made me feel less isolated and I am learning so much. I was diagnosed with Type 1 in May 2011 at the age of 55 my diagnosis was having DKA so it was quite a dramatic experience all round, rushed to A & E in an ambulance while on holiday. What a shock and life changing thing diabetes is. Nobody in my family or friends has either Type 1 or Type 2 so nobody to share experiences and problems with. How have you coped for 25 years? If it wasn't for this forum I'd have given up and that's only after 21 months. Hope to hear more from you. All the best Carole
