Hi I have not been on here for a while. IU am now 36 nearly 37. I have lost over 3 stones over last 2 years. I have stuck with the low carb diet.
I have been diet controlled for the last 3 years,
But because of my numbers not being stable I have now been put onto metaformin.
I am to take 1x500mg for first two weeks. This is beacuse they want to see what effort it has on my warfarin. Then as of 3rd week 2x metaformin
My first blood test in morning is usally between 8 and 8.6
My doctors ahave allowed me to try to bring it down slowly by diet.

Hi Sandy

I believe warfarin in combination with diabetic medication can cause sugar levels to drop lower than usual and this is probably why they're being cautious with metformin.

Levels of 8 and more are on the high side so I can also see why they're wishing to put you onto metformin here.

Your weight loss over the last 2 years seems very positive and will no doubt help your health :)

Let us know how you get on with the metformin.

Best wishes
Ed
