Hi all. I use an SD code free glucose monitor. But problem is it is giving me some strange readings! I have just tested ( 2 hours after my evening meal) and got a very high reading (for me anyhow) of 14.7! Because of this reading I decided to test again and the reading was then a more respectable 7.8 ! Does this mean I can't rely on this type of monitor! Thanks.

`Clean your hands in plain warm water.Your tests will almost always be different but if the margin continues to be high then consider running a control test on your meter.

Unless this kind of thing recurs it is most likely sample contamination - something sugary or carby on your fingers.

Most meters can throw funny readings from time to time, as others have said may be contamination, that's the most likely cause.
