Hi I`m new and Worried

Hi all
I`m new here, but have been a type 2 diabetic for 3yrs. I am on Metformin 850mg 3xday and Pioglitazone 15mg 1xday.
I find when I take 3 x metformin 3times a day I get quite bad diarrhea, I have talked about this to the diabetic nurse, and she has mentioned Victoza. My Doctor has now agreed for me to go on it as he said it will help my weight problem I have too, but I am quite worried as it`s mentioned Thyroid Gland Cancer. My last HBA1C test was 7.8

I was born with Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)and have to take Levothyroxine 375mg a day, so am wondering and worrying, whether I have more of a chance of getting Thyroid Cancer if I take Victoza. :crazy:

Does anyone else have Hypothryroidism who is already on Victoza please :?: , maybe they can put my mind at rest.

There is a SR version of metformin which is kinder on the stomach which may be worth trying before going onto something else. They don't usually prescribe it unless you ask as it is more expensive.
