Hi Ya, I am new on this forum, but I have been diagnosed for about 3 years with type 2 diabetes and am on Metformin. I am very overweight (18stone) and am thinking about going on the 5:2 fasting diet, (fast for two days, eating just 500 calories and then for five days eat normally). I am going to see my GP to see what he thinks but just wondered if anyone was on this diet or if they knew whether it was ok for diabetics? Would really appreciate your views or any info about it please.
