I don't eat carbs and I don't eat a lot of fats as I am trying to lose weight.Hi Grampat sorry to hear about your problems, many type 2s on this forum manage to keep their blood sugar low by following a low carb (30g a day) high fat diet. I suggest looking in this sub-forum for help http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/category/low-carb-diet-forum.18/
Can you give us an idea of what you typically eat in a day?I don't eat carbs and I don't eat a lot of fats as I am trying to lose weight.
I try to do gluten free and sugar free meals. Omelet for breakfast make with egg beaters, onion, about 2 Tblsp ground ham and about 1/4 cup of finely grated cheese. Lunch i usually have either a ham and cheese sandwich or a cup of cottage cheese with a few slices of peaches packed in water cut up in it. For supper i usually have a salad and some kind of meat about a 3 oz piece and for a bed snack I have a small dish of fat free sugar free jello mixed with a little cool whip. I am counting my calories and try to stay between 1200 and 1500 a day.Can you give us an idea of what you typically eat in a day?
That sounds great, except you might want to skip the bread as that is quite carby.I try to do gluten free and sugar free meals. I have tried going without the bread and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I maybe eat 1 loaf in two weeks. That sounds great, except you might want to skip the bread as that is quite carby.
Do you have a blood glucose testing meter? That would help you find out if bread spikes your blood glucose and by how much.I have tried going without the bread and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I maybe eat 1 loaf in two weeks.
I still think my body processes food differently since half my digestive system is missing because of my Ileostom which I have lived with for 40 years.I have tried going without the bread and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I maybe eat 1 loaf in two weeks.
Yes and I don't see any difference there either.Do you have a blood glucose testing meter? That would help you find out if bread spikes your blood glucose and by how much.
