Hello,

I am new to the forum and have just been diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 23. I have been doing so much reading that I have a headache, I'm fairly certain I read less than this for my entire degree but oh well.

I don't really think I have many questions right now as such but I am keen to meet and talk to people who also have the same condition as me to help me fully understand and talk about what it is and entails.

I also wondered if there was some kind of social media type of effect that allowed you to talk to people or find people in the same area?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I don't use the social media sites, but I believe that there are groups for people with diabetes on the likes of Facebook, however you can chat away here on any of the forums relevant to the discussion you want to chat about, alternatively see if there's any group meetings in your area through Diabetes UK.
 
Hi James....welcome aboard....newbie to this type 2 stuff here myself so know how you are feeling, but am now getting my head around it
