hi my name is mark and i am 39 about to go to 40 and 4 days ago i was told that i have got type 1 . its is hard to take it all in i have to go back to see someone from the diabetic clinic.can any one tell or help me get my head round this ,

Have a good read of the forum, the type 1 section should provide some useful information for you. I know it is hard to take in, but things will become more clear in time, try to read up as much info as possible, and also write down on a piece of paper any questions or concerns you may have and take along to your clinic appointment.

Hi Mark and welcome. I know nothing about Type 1, but agree with Nigel, try to find out as much as you can before your appointment. Take pen and paper with you, it may also help to take a friend.

Hi, I was diagnosed with type 1 three months ago! I was 41.

Three months on and life is almost back to normal and I'm feeling well.

The forum helped me lots, so much info here from people who know.

Take care and remember things will get easier for you and your family

hya and welcome,
im just reaching yr 6 as a type 1 and im 37, have a good read of the forum and ask anything you dont quite understand, you will get used to it :D
