Hi, i am new to forum , been T2 for about 6 yrs , on metformin and insulin. got latest blood results and my Hba1c is 60 which is high, have diabetic review monday now has been brought forward . Bloods were done as i was hyper all the time for no reason. so had bloods done yesterday and 2 weeks ago. Has anyone else had this problem and if so , what was done to help you . Thanks x

Hi and welcome.
Generally you will find the answer you get lies in diet and exercise.
Many members follow a low Carbohydrate High Fat diet, if you go to the forums and read some of the Diet or LCHF threads you will learn a lot.
Going low Carb will defiantly help in reducing Blood Sugar and if you are able to, exercise a minimum of 3 or more times a week for 30 minutes or longer. Walking is a good option
Your HbA1c is a bit on the high side, try and get it a bit lower
Please feel free to ask any questions, as someone will help were they can
Good luck:)

Hello and welcome.

I agree, cutting right down on carbs is the only way to (with added exercise and weight loss should this be needed).

Maybe you could give us a typical days menu and we could see where you are going wrong.

I am disabled , can usually do light excercise, but at moment have heart problem so exercise is out. i have just lost 7st , after being on high steroids for 6yrs .

As for food i dont eat a lot of carbs at all , i am not a foodie at all . i eat because i have to x

Sorry to hear about your condition. Jack beat me to the reply, but has given you some pretty good links that may help.
I think steroids may be playing a part as well, but im no expert, worth discussing on your visit.
Good luck
