Hi all this site is fantastic and so very helpfull. You wait till I go to my next diabetic check up I will ask if they have ever been on the site cos you guy know more than them.
Yesterday I had blueberries after my lunch then in the afternoon after a meal I had manderines both with a small amount of crem frachie but felt very tired in the afternnon. Today I havn't had fruit and feel more lively ta Julie

Hi Julie,

I would have thought the blueberries wouldn't be too bad but mandarins are probably quite high carb content which would have made you feel sluggish.

The only way to know for sure is to test test test.

Hi Thank you for your reply, yes I will do that. My diabetic nurse said not too keep testing but that is the only way I will find out for sure many thanks Julie

Hey Julie, out of interest did you get given a testing kit straight away? (my docs still won't give me one even though i've pushed him about it several times)

Also I agree about the mandarins, I don't really have fruit but if i do it's only probably 1 portion a day.

You are right, your nurse is wrong. If you want to find out what is going on, testing's the best way. Sounds like you are approaching it the right way and doing the right things. Welcome!

Hi Eurydice

No my Doctor didnt offer the testing kit, but I went to my primary care trust for advice and a check up and they gave it to me straight away so try them. Julie
