Hi,
I'm Natalie. Been type one for 25 years(diagnosed at 13 months). So although i'm new to site not new to diabetes. I have joined the site out of curiosity, and look forward to learning new things. Hopefully can help others along the way.

Welcome to the forum Natjhan,I hope you can find some interesting info on here.Have a read in the type 1 forum especially.

Hi there,
I noticed you were diagnosed at 13 months. You were very young like my son, diagnosed at 8 months. I actually thought it was good that he would never know the life without diabetes. Have your parents told you lots of stories about when you were first diagnosed and the troubles they had with you being so young? I'd love to hear.

Khaleb went into DKA (bsl 86mml/l) in just a few days that I had noticed him a bit unwell and thirsty. He spent the next month in hospital. There was no honeymoon period.

Welcome to the forum, Jen.

Hi Sue and Jen
I agree that being diagnosed so young meant I never knew any differently, but that's not to say I never rebelled.
My parents never got a quick response with my diagnosis, I was quite an ill baby for a while, ended up unconcious(sp) and in a diabetic coma before finally diagnosed(no family history). And my parents learnt as they went.
I think different ages brought up different challenges, so anything in particular you want to know I can find out for you.
Nat
