Hi everyone
mY name is susie, im 46yrs old, I have been diabetic for about 20 yrs, and on insulin for 10, my doc has recently put me on two insulins novarapid and levermir, my diabetes isnt controled very well, and because of this I have retinopathy and neropathy, I have other health problems which are not helping, polycysitic ovaries, relux, hiatus hernia, asthma, and depression.
My family dumped me because of my health, I have a very close friend who has moved in with me and she is also my carer the doc will only give me meds if she gives them to me.
My blood sugars are often in the high 20s. which make me feel yuk and then that will effect my depression.
Im hoping I can make some new friends on here who I can trust, and who understand how we can feel sometimes/
I hope to hear from someone
take care
susie

Morning Susie

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you are having such a horrid time of it. We will all be as helpful as possible, please feel free to ask any questions

Hi newbie, just to let you know i was recently diagnosed, (8 weeks ago), with type 2 and yes it's been a night mare trying to get my levels down, (high 25, lowest 15), so i can relate to the "yuk" feeling. I don't have all the related symptoms that you have but i really do sympathise with you. I won't give any advice because i'm a baby to this condition but i wish you all the best for the future and what a wonderful person your carer sounds.

BEST WISHES AND GOOD LUCK

Hazey

Hi Susie, welcome to the forum, dont give up, things will get better, you will find so much information and support in this forum and it will help you understand diabetes and how you can gain control over diabetes and your life once more.

How is your neuropathy affecting you? I think once you have your bg down and keeping it that way you will find an improvement with both neuropathy and depression.

Thank goodness for your good friend, family often find it hard to deal with when a loved one becomes ill, I hope that you all can be reunited.

Any questions just ask, there is always someone that can give you the right answer, so dont be shy.

Love and hugs

Karen x

welcome to the forum susie,
the only way is up. or down in the case of your hba1c
Before you can beat diabetes you need to understand it - and there's
plenty of info worth checking out in the "General links for diabetes"
and "links for type 2 diabetes" sections on this forum.

good luck,

Hi everyone
thankyou for all your kind welcomes, I'm still having trouble with my high blood sugars its 21.3 at the moment, which makes my eyes blurry and I get tired.
I went to the docs the other day as Im having trouble with my asthma and they have put me on a stronger inhaler. the doc I saw doesnt know too much about diabetes.
Hi Karen my neuropathy effects me everyday, with alot of pain and sharp like electric shocks, it also gives me alot of infections if I cut my feet, the other day one of my dogs trod on my foot, and last nite I got a pain in my toe, only to find the whole nail had risen up and came loose which I had to take off. its hurting alot today.
As for my family its been 5 years since I saw any of them, and after what they said to me, I dont think I want to know them.
hope everyone is ok
take care
susie
