Hi everyone,
I was diagnoised with T2 diabetes at the start of the month after a water infection. Was put on metformin straight away not even seen my doctor.

I feel I have been left to cope with this on my own and don't feel as if my practise has taken this as seriously as I have, I was told to go on a restricted carb diet.

After a very quick first appointment with the diabetes nurse I was told that I needed to loose weight, when I pointed out that I been on a stricked diet for the last 2 weeks and ask if she new a reason why I'd gained 4 lbs even after exercising daily ( which is very difficult as I stuffer from Chronis Fatigue Syndrome as well) she strugged her shoulder and laughted, not quite the response I was looking for, she then told me to join weightwatchers but to watch my fats and sugars.

Is there anyone else out there that has gained weight? Does any one have an explaination, when reading the forum most people seem to loose weight.

Also I was sent a letter with all these numbers on and I havent got a clue what they are as no-one has explained them to me.

Hello and welcome

It is hard in the begining particularly if you have been left alone with no explanations. One of the monitors will be along to give you their advice for newbies. Read it carefully and buy yourself a blood sugar monitor, they are vital to yur understanding of the condition.

If you post you readings here then somebody will try to tell you what they are.
