hi really confused

OK here it goes
Been feeling really unwell for a number of months, had lots of water infections, itchy skin blurred vision feeling really light headed and sick really shaky, cuts taking weeks to heal. Last few weeks increased thirst funny taste in my mouth like metal, around 2 weeks ago my mouth was so sore i could hardly eat, then my nose was the same sore and weeping took 2 weeks for it to heal and was very painful. I have always had problems with my weight, lost alot over the last few years for no apparent reason and unable to put it back on. I crave sugary things all the time and am always exhausted and can be freezing cold then get really bad hot flushes. I get alots of tingling and numbness in my arms hands feet and legs.

Went to the docs yesterday and told her all my symptoms again she asked if there was history of diabetes in family, there is my nan type 1, mum type2, 3 aunts type 1. 2 c ousins and my brother is diet controlled.
She done a test with the meter which showed 6.5, she asked if i had eaten, i had a cup of coffee and 2 biscuits, i have to go back on Friday for fasting bloods.

I am really confused, what are your thoughts on this.

Sorry forgot to add, my mum nan and aunts are no longer alive so cannot have advise from them, my cousins and brother have not long been diagnosed, so was hoping for some advise from this forum.

Your symptoms could be diabetes, but they might be other things, it's imposible to tell over the internet, your doctor is doing the blood test so they should be able to shed some light for you. This site is a great place for info, so keep reading adn informing yourself and get back to us and let us knwo how you got on.
