Hi all
I am new to all this Forum stuff so bear with me......
I am Graham, age 42 form North West of UK, type 1 for 9 years.
I am currently on Levemir and Novorapid.
To be honest when I was first diagnosed I was on top of everything, checking my BG up to 10 times a day and making lists of how different foods effect me and how much insulin to take etc, but after 3 years it wore off and I did "just about enough" to get through,my HB1AC began to rise and then I stopped going to see my specialist because I was sick of being told off!!.
Fortunately I have no side effects and my eye test has alays been clear and I look after my feet.
But now I have realised enough is enough and now its time to take control of this and sort myself out.
I have registered with another Hospital and have a check up booked for November with a specialist, DSN and dietician.
I feel really motivated having stumbled across this forum, and without it I probably would have just carried on as before.
