Hi @diyking ,

Welcome to the forums.

Having just been diagnosed, I assume that your head is probably in a bit of a spin but don't worry too much, the vast majority of us find that diabetes is manageable with the right approach. And you're obviously looking for info' and not ignoring it so you're off to a good start.

As a T2 you are unlikely to get home testing equipment (but ask your GP anyway) unless you're insulin dependent. So have a think about keeping tabs on your glucose levels by getting a meter and test strips. We can probably guide you further with this if you want to go ahead with it.

There's a lot to take in, but take it easy and learn in your own time.

My advice is to browse through all these forums, take note of the dietary advice, and read the main website. Learn as much as you can about diabetes, what our bodies don't do properly, and all the guidelines on blood sugar levels and what the numbers all mean. The more you know the better able you will be to control it. Then ask questions.

Hi @diyking and welcome to the forum. There is a lot of good advice on here. Have a read round the threads and you will see that a lot of people on here have controlled their diabetes by adopting a Low Carbohydrate High Fat approach to eating, which has lowered their blood sugar levels.
Ask any questions you want to. The people on here are friendly and supportive.
