Hello all - finally after surgery for phimosisn(ouch) and tingling in the toes, i am ready to accept my diagnosis! They call me lightning in my family!!
Im going to skip the whole "I cant believe I have diabetes" rubbish - I dont feel lonely in that room - i am about 5-7 stones overweight depending how you see it, i am also 6' 7" with jona loumu's frame so I hide it well!! I see getting the weight off as the key to reducing the effects, but know that proper medication is there also - I am not (or should I say I USED to be...) great at taking my medication...

Anyway, here I am, humbled by essentially my poor dietary choices.over the past 25 years or so.

Chris

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum. You are among friends here and we all have things in common. If you want to know anything just post a question and someone will have an answer for you. The Forum Monitors have written some basic information for new members which should answer some of your questions and get you started on managing your diabetes :

At 6ft 7" anything you want to know we wont argue!

Hi Chris!

"My God, a man at last"   (quote from a friend of mine - not meant to be irreverent!)

I'm about the same overweight as you, so I'll race you down to a proper figure.

Welcome indeed.

All sounds good Viv - I'm starting seriously tomorrow - one last lasagna!

See you on the slim side!!

For some reason I got a mental image of both of you on the top of a very high slide wooshing down, when I read your posts. Hopefully it will be that easy for both of you! Good luck ( perhaps we should run a book! )
