Hi just introducing myself. I am Mum to Sam, 13 years old and diagnosed last week with type 1 diabetes. Seems to be lots to come to terms with and a huge shock to the whole family ( no history) Blood sugar levels were up to 30.6 at peak but now at around 12 - 19 after first day back at home. Very tired but very grateful to all the hospital staff who looked after us. Will probably have a million and one questions over the coming months so glad to have found this forum.
 
Hi Estherhem and welcome to the forum :) Should you need advice, go to the Youth Club forum where you will find plenty of mums, dads, and young people with experience who can help you.
