Hi everyone,
I'm a newly diagnosed (4 months) T2 diabetic. I was coasting along in life, quite happy with my lot, until I reached 60 and my GP did a few tests and then it was "me"!! "diabebtic"!!.
After the initial shock and going to a DESMOND workshop (which was brilliant and really put things in prospective), I've realized that every cloud has a silver lining; mine being a complete change in eating habit. I'm eating healthier and feeling great for it, although I'd never have thought that I would eat so much "grass" (salads) and that they can actually be very nice !!
So even though I have this affliction (is that a right word for it ?), I'm much better off, as is the family as a whole, because this thing and the change of diet, involves us all.
Ben
