Hi! Id like to say hello to you because im looking for any kind of support with my diabetes and know some nice people here :).
I'm 15 y/o and I'm t1 diabetic since 2005. I use pens and my hba1c results are quite good. I've started being more aware of my illness recently(during winter holidays). I do not have any friends(only classmates) and being lonely makes me mad(like bad thoughts). I finish the middle school this year and I think that everything could be only better(my school results are good, no problems with studying). My parents take care of me and Im very grateful but Ive got few questions Id like you to answer:
1. How do you treat any meetings with friends or parties? It is very uncomfortable with diabetes, isnt it? Wearing your bag everytime yes? How to you treat bigger meetings/parties with more people, drinks and all that kind of stuff? Im asking because Ive never been on that and I wanna change it in high school(staying at home without friends is very depressing)
2. Is it hard to lose weight/body build/ be fit? Tbh Ive got some kgs/lbs to lose but Ive nevet thought about that.
3. How do you feel in relationship? Having a girlfriend is lovely feeling but how does she act like with your diabetes, do you have any problems in normal dates etc.?

That's all for now, sorry for my bad language(im not neither English nor American).

Hi @Michik , welcome to the forums.

1/How big is your bag? If you're only going out for a few hours what do you need to take? I only take my meter, lancer, pens, and a couple of needles. It all fits into a small pencil case and I can squeeze into a jacket pocket.

2/Losing weight can be acheived with the right diet, but of course you'd need to match your insulin to any change in diet. Make sure to get advice from your medical advisors before changing anything.

3/ As for relationships, finding a partner is not always easy whether you are perfectly healthy or whether you have a condition like diabetes. A good partner will accept you for the person you are. That's my take on it anyway.
