high alkaline levels

hi,
I have received a letter from the ultra sound dept of my hospital after a recent blood test showed that I had high alkaline levels.
At least I think that's what its for because I received the appointment before I received a explanation from the diabetic clinic and im still waiting for the letter. I rang the diabetic clinic and was told that the ultra sound was for my abdomen (im a bloke so I hope im not pregnant) but the rest of the conversation was a bit vague.
does anyone know what they might be looking for.im a type 1 of some 37 years?

I don't know until the letter arrives but I have been on antibiotics recently and if it is what you suggested then it could be an elevated result due to this
I really appreciate your help as I can now sleep a bit easier.
scan is in July ill let you know what happens!!
