High B/S despite cutting sugars

I have had Type 2 diabetes for 8 years now and so far have controlled it with diet and excercise. Until recently I was carer for my elderly mother and the stress did effect my BS. As she passed away at Christmas I am trying to get my numbers back to normal. I have increased my high intenstivity training to 3 hours a week plus one hour in the gym. I have also cut out my cappuccinos which had become a comfort food. I had expected my numbers to go down but this week they are going up, yesterday was 6.9 and today is 7.3. Is this normal or is cutting out the sugar causing my insulin levels to drop so not coping as well.

There are a number of reasons why this may be happening
- you body is readjusting itself to change to the new regime. Give yourself more than two days to work out what is happening.
- are you ill, stressed, have you changed anything else such as other medication?
- you say you have cut down on sugars. Have you cut down on all carbohydrates as these break down to sugar so potatoes and pasta, for example, we also affect your BG.
- typically, our BG meters are accurate to 15%. The difference between 6.9 and 7.3 is less than 15% so they may be about the same reading and not necessarily increasing.
