So late last night my BG started rising rapidly for no reason. Did several correction boluses and was still going into double figures quickly. Set was on second day and had been sore so put in new set. New set felt fine and slowly brought BG down to normal levels. I had to set my alarm to wake up every hour or so to check and I noticed they rose again but of course I wasn't sure exactly when old set had stopped working.
This morning I got up early and BG started shooting up again. I normally wake with BG of 4-5 and hold steady but woke with 6.4 and rose to 10 very fast. I did correction bolus and put on temp basal. We had a vet appointment so had to go but kept checking BG. Dropped to 8 but very slowly. New set feels fine and not sore.
Two hours later and with masses of insulin my BG is now down to 6.7 but something isn't right. I have just changed my reservoir, tubing and new vial of insulin as want to rule that out. I am needing a LOT of insulin - bolus and basal +150% but it's not doing much. I have a mild cold but nothing else.
What should I do next please? Not been in this situation except when set fails new one has always worked and all sorted.
